A twenty-acre weekend estate designed for New York City family.  The property is characterized by a set of old field outdoor-rooms spatially defined by native woods and tree hedge rows and traditional stone walls.  The project includes design for a 22x60 swimming pool, which is sited to emphasize the view toward the horizon.  A series of gestural lines and spaces anchor the pool and provide a sense of scale relationship between the pool and the site context.  Overall the designed landscape is intended to distill and draw on qualities of the native landscape and create a transcendental space of harmony with the nature of the place.
